An exhibition developed with artists, writers, and curators from the Royal College of Art and Central St Martins.
In the face of the incessant absurdity that characterises our reality, we must lean on creative and experimental pursuits to find ways of navigating the complex dissonances of contemporary life. The ‘absurd art space’ allows chaos to unfurl rather than fester behind prescribed narratives and vague proclamations. We acknowledge the duality present in these artworks, where darkness and discomfort can manifest as well as the playful and nonsensical. To navigate this duality, this exhibition asks questions in place of making statements. The idea is to create a tangible, conceptual, and visual space that engages with participants in experimental ways. We invite you to embark on a personal journey of questioning and embracing the absurd - to whatever extent that may be.
